Appointments always begin with a conversation, but it’s much more than small talk.
The purpose of this discussion is to understand why you’ve booked the appointment. Whether it’s due to pain, stiffness, an injury, or something else, we’ll explore your concerns. You might have one issue or several. I’ll also ask about your medical history, as this helps me understand your situation and tailor the physical examination to your needs.
Following our conversation, I’ll perform a physical examination. This may involve removing some outer layers of clothing to focus on the affected area. I might ask you to perform simple movements to observe how your body is functioning and note any stiffness or discomfort. Sometimes, I’ll repeat these tests while you’re relaxed to gain a clearer picture of the structures involved.
Once we’ve identified the likely cause, I’ll begin treatment and work with you to create a personalized plan. Treatments often include a combination of joint mobilization, stretches, and massage of the muscles and soft tissues. I also incorporate cranial osteopathy techniques. Additionally, we may discuss exercises and lifestyle adjustments to support your recovery and overall wellbeing.
